SeaFest is approaching!!
Hey FIT2U followers
SeaFest is this weekend!! I am getting very excited. Remember to stop by Mariners Park this Saturday for a bootcamp workout. Don't worry, ALL FITNESS levels are welcome!
To give you a sneak peak, here is what we will be doing:
-group warm-up
-walk/run intervals followed by group exercises and partner work
-Mountie torture
Lots of people complain that they don't have time to workout because they have to take care of their kids. Last time I checked, there was no law on the books saying that time with your kids has to be spent indoors, in front of the television. Get your family outside and engage in active play with them! Play some touch football or a game of tag. It's no substitute for a workout, but it will burn extra calories-and set a great example for your little ones about the value of movement.
Until next time,
Live Active........Live Healthy..........Live Happy

New Run Time and Last week to Train for the Race
Hey Group Runners
I have changed the evening Monday/Wednesday/Friday run times as majority of the runners said they prefer to run at 6pm instead of 5:15. Also heard that this new time will work better for teachers......
Let's try it out and see, now, Let's get out and Run!!
For more details, check out the updated tab, "Running Groups" at the top of the page.
Skeena Relay Race is in 6 days. This week I will share with you how I train the last week before a race. Here is the plan:
Sunday (today): Race Pace 10km
Monday: LSD (long slow distance) Day 13km-this is my distance in the race, if yours is 15km, then I suggest to do whatever your distance is.
Tuesday: Weights/Body-weight/Core Exercises
Wednesday: 5km Very Fast, Beat your time, last week I did it in 24:11, so, must beat that time
Thursday: Weights/Body-weight/Core Exercises
Friday: Off or Active Rest Day, Hike/Walk
Saturday: Race Day!!!
Check back to see how this weeks training will go......wish me luck.

SEAFEST BOOTCAMP for COPS for CANCER
Hey Ruperties
Mark your calenders, I am doing a Seafest Bootcamp again this year!! This year it takes place at Mariners Park on Saturday June 11th from 2:00pm until 3:00pm.
Last year I helped raise money for Cops for Cancer and I am doing it again this year, But I have a twist......this year you can compete with some local mounties in a fitness competition. For every $5 donation they will have to endure an extra 10 seconds of whatever torture pain exercise I decide to make them do......, maybe a plank or bicycle crunches......lol. All for good fun of course.
And Afterwards, we will all do some bootcamp type exercises together. So come down, and do a few squats for a good cause. Or if you aren't feeling like enduring my bootcamp, come down to donate anyway and cheer on the mounties!!
See you Saturday for a good sweat.....Rain or Shine, the Mounties will be there!!
